Hosting a Party in Summer is always fun!? My hubby doesn?t usually have business trips, but last week he was away for a full week!? My Sweet MIL came out to keep us company (and to take my three sweet B?s home for Gigi and Pa Camp the following week).? Yes, I?m blessed!? While she was here, we decided to spoil my hubby with a special family meal ?Party? when he returned home!
I usually leave my table spread with my favorite ?burlap?drop cloth monogrammed table runner? topped with dried Craspedia Billy Balls Yellow Flowers.? How do I dry them!?!?? EASY!? I just put them in my vases without water (to avoid mold) and leave them there until they?re dry!? They last forever?well, at least for years!? They?re seasonal so check with your local florist to see when they?ll be in stock!? I found mine at Trader Joe?s recently!
For the party, I moved my flowers atop the piano and switched out my runner to a simple DIY white table runner I made years ago.? I knew I wanted to incorporate seashells and succulents!? And I also wanted to pull out some of the colors in my plate collection!
I picked up these coral candles at Target a few months ago and they were the perfect pop of color!
I?ve been collecting seashells for a long time.? You may have seen more of my seashell posts, like my Potterybarn Inspired Beach Table or my DIY ZGallerie Seashell Candleholder Souvineer?!?? Nothing says summertime quite the like the beach!? I?m still loving this Beach House Tour and can?t wait for our Florida Vacation in a few weeks!? I totally need to find a new white dress for our annual family pic!? Have you seen any!?!? ?- Okay enough tangents!
I always find great table linens at Crate and Barrel, I bought these placemats a while back, but everytime I?m there I find more I totally LOVE and for a pretty good price!
My napkins are from Home Goods ? two packages of five!? I love white ? Bleach Friendly!
My reusable chalkboard stakes are from JoAnn?s David Tutera?s Classic Elegance line ? I had my three sweeties each write a little message welcoming Daddy home!
Did you ever see what my pretty white chandelier used to look like!?!? Here?s the Chandelier Makeover.
I?ve had a thing for Mason Jars for years now and it doesn?t seem to be going anywhere!? Love them!? A decorative straw, slice of lime, and some sun-brewed iced tea is the perfect summer beverage!
My napkin holders were found in Target?s Dollar Spot ? 75% off!? Awesome, right!? I can?t ever walk through Target without taking a little peek ? I love the randomness.
If you haven?t checked out my MIL?s blog you should hop over to Zu Haus At Home and say hi ? we both enjoy creating tablescapes!
Curious what I served!?!
Mango and Chicken Shish Kabobs
Knockoff Chipolte?s Lime Rice
