A career in animation would require a little or more sense of passion and creativity in terms of creating things out of nothing. It is extremely important to also know the industry in and out to have a career in animation.
Animation as an industry is fast paced and rigorous and is rising every year. Animation professionals are high in demand due to the rigorous training and usage of cutting edge technology that they use. With the rise of need of animated films by the audience it is always a great opportunity for a creative person to pursue a career into animation.
Animation is a blend of entertainment and great technology. The range of jobs available for a animator can be exasperating. There is hardly any industry in the world that does not make use of animation.
The pre requisites for being a animator are varied, firstly you need to have great drawing skills, high amount of visualization, Imagination and observation. Animation is a mixture of 70 percent art and 30 percent technology. Acting is also a very important part of animation. Apart from good creativity, imagination and passion you also need good English skills. The ability to draw is an advantage besides knowledge of art and design. You should have an inclination towards art and also a basic knowledge of handling computers.

A Brief on 3D Animation
An animator is purely responsible for taking an idea and generating a series of drawings that can be used to bring an idea to life. An animator must be a very illustrative person that can also turn ideas into either lifelike or cartoon style drawings. Some animators? use specialized computer softwares? to both draw and animate their ideas, but they still it is a pre requisite to have the fundamental understanding of drawing and creating as well as animation and films.
An animator must be a people?s person and should be able to work closely with others as he or she will usually work as part of a creative team. Excellent verbal communication skills and an ability to work within a group are very important for an animator. He or she will also work with the sound professionals who will do the voiceovers for the animated film. There may be many revisions and changes to the original artwork so the animator must be flexible and open to making changes.
The basic things that an animator is supposed to do is, developing, creating and drawing animated characters, backgrounds and various components of animated film and video. It also involves working closely with creative team members to draw and animate various characters within the project, program or script. It includes interviewing and interacting with clients to determine the specifications required for the project. It means revising and modifying artwork as required by the creative team or the project supervisor or client. It means understanding and using various computer programs to animate graphic designs and artwork. An Animator?s role has become even more complex due to the use of advanced technology.
